I like the variety. It was a lot to cover for the amount of time, but it gave us a taste a few things. Maybe specify with the next group that they must download the windows software to avoid downloading the limited Google chrome app. It's though since there is so many technical hiccups that could happen it's hard to master everything. Overall good job! I definitely learned new things!
Workshop was planned really well, there was a lot of things but I think it`s better to get a gist of things than not know at all about them. I think you should really tell the next groups to download the ``windows`` version so you don`t have some web app issues.
Overall, it was definitely a great way to learn, I probably would`ve have attempted it on my own (no time!) Be prepared for the unexpected technical issues that arise.
I liked how the workshop taught us the basic tools of Geogebra, however I feel like I was rushed for time. The activities you showed will be helpful in the classroom and it's good you showed us other resources. We spent a lot of time just playing with geobebra but it is definitely needed. I think you need on presenter with each of us making sure we know we're doing everything right. Good workshop.
Peter gave very good tips-like posting the worksheet on the site. very helpful The trig ratio activity was confusing. I personally probably wouldn't use GeoGebra for this type of content in the class. Justin, I liked your presentation on the derivative functions and making the graphs of derivative. You gave very good step by step instructions. I developed a love and hate relationship with this program. I believe it has its strong points, but I believe we just need to play around with it more to really understand and be able to use this effectively in class.
I thought that this was a great workshop and I think it showed that GeoGebra is an interesting application. One part of the workshop that I really enjoyed was learning how to plot and find the derivatives of specific functions. I also thought it was very useful when we were taught how to find the max and min of a function on the program. The other part of the workshop that seemed very useful was when we were shown all of the different worksheets available on GeoGebraTube. One part of the workshop that I found slightly confusing was when we were making the right angle triangles and doing the trig ratio activity. Overall good workshop.
Great workshop, you guys worked to make sure that you went at our pace even when we got off track a bit and you were extremely helpful at answering questions we had along the way. The only complaint I have is with the software itself, it is not as responsive as I would like and it seems like we need to put a lot of time into incorporating it in the classroom but this has nothing to do with the workshop itself.
- Your workshop taught the basics of Geogebra very thoroughly. It was a lot to cover in such a short time but you made it work! - Geogebra is a very frustrating tool but you did a great job at adapting it to the workshop, especially since you had one group member missing at all times. - You were very helpful answering our questions. - Great idea to include useful resources!! - Thank you for introducing us to www.Geogebratube.org - At times it seemed that you were having some troubleshooting problems and did not know how to solve them. - Ensure that your workshop outline matches what you are actually presenting so we can follow along. - You should have your "students" do everything without you actually doing it. Otherwise it's a bit difficult to follow along. - Especially with a sensitive tool like this, you want to ensure that you don't skip any steps in your explanation.
